Contentment and Trust

Psalms 131:1-2

My heart is not proud, O Lord, My eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.
But I have stilled and quieted my soul.....

Waffles for Dinner

All I can say is YUM.  I love Belgian Waffles.....so we are having them for dinner.  Chuck is in Honduras so it's just the kids and me.  After dinner we are heading to the couch for movie night.   What fun!

Ok, I can't find my recipe book so thankfully there is the internet!  WHEW:)

Coffee....oh, I love coffee.  Yes, I feel joyful when I am drinking coffee.

 My kitchen assistant, Tolar.  Waiting.....waiting....waiting....
 DONE....it's finally done....I get the first one...no, me.....no, ME!

 Thank you Mom....it's so yummy!
Let's get this place cleaned up and go watch our movie!  Have a great night folks.

Happy Easter Friends

Easter weekend was a special one.  My dad, brother (Spence) and I traveled to Florida to attend a wedding.  My flower girl, from my wedding 14 years ago, got married.  She is the oldest daughter of my dad's only brother.  It was an adventure....to say the least.  We traveled about a mile into the woods, past hay bales with balloons tied to them to get to the where the ceremony was held.  We were in a hay field sitting on hay bales!  The ceremony turned out to be beautiful, but we all had a few laughs because we didn't know what we were in for! I literally had to dig a stick out of my dress at one point.  Oh, and there was no need to put on my heels while we were in a field...I just wore my flip flops.  Overall, it was a fun day and a really nice wedding.

Easter was spent with family and friends.....eating, swimming and playing games!  So thankful for Jesus and what He did for us on the cross!

We have to recognize Turner who won the game ball last Friday night at his tball game!  He was 2 for 2....and that kids hits the ball (not off a T).  He also had 4 unassisted outs playing second base.  He is a good little player and loves it.

Chuck leaves for Honduras tonight after Turner's ballgame.  I hope you all have a wonderful week!

From an Empty Tank to a Full One

Here are a few pictures from our beach trip last week.  I was downloading the pictures to my computer and uploading to Snapfish at the same time.  Somehow half of the pictures didn't load onto the computer, but thankfully uploaded to Snapfish before the card erased itself!  WHEW!
God is so faithful and abundantly good to us.  Our family was in desperate need of refreshment and time away.  He provided for both!  I am so thankful.
We love that our family is in full time ministry.  That is our heart!  Chuck loves his job and is so thankful that God brought him full circle after a 17 year WAIT.  (Yes, you can learn a thing or two about waiting from my husband...He's amazing!)  We waited on God!  He placed us where we are, so we have an appreciation for all that God has done....because we Waited on Him.  Still, ministry can drain if you are not careful.  Chuck has been really busy between church responsibilities and helping coach two baseball teams.  Oh, ball season is nuts!  He needed last week more than any of us and we were so thankful that he was able to come down and join us.  We all returned home with full tanks!  What a blessing.  Of course, we returned home at 11:30 Thursday night due to Chuck's dad not doing well, at the time.  Chuck needed to get home so he could stay the night with his dad at the hospital.  Thankfully, things are better and his dad came home this week.
So here are a few pictures of us enjoying all that God blessed us with....He was in the details.  Yes, God was in the details of our vacation.  Isn't that good?

Fishing at the beach

Well as we all know...we commit our plans to Lord when we make them trusting He will work out what is best.  Our family was to leave Monday for a much needed week at the beach.  Late Sunday night Chuck's dad was admitted to the hospital with congestive heart failure.  Not to mention how swamped things were at church for Chuck,  as the Woodland Food ministry was beginning Monday night.  Chuck has stayed behind to care for his parents and kick off the food ministry last night.  Praise God that the response to that went great and all were encouraged.  Christ was shared along with our church members serving a meal to the community.  That will continue on each Monday.  Chuck's dad is doing much better and should come home in a couple of days.   The kids and I are finally relaxing and enjoying each other.  The first day was tense because Mommy was tense and tired.  Thankfully, after a pot of coffee and some prayer, today is going better.  The kids and I went and bought some shrimp to fish with and were successful.  So I guess,  life is good at the beach.....but we do miss Chuck.
Sorry if that picture posted sideways.   Me and this phone:)

Spring Break YAY

We are so thankful to be heading to the beach tomorrow!  After a month and a half of remodeling we are ready to get away.  We so love our new kitchen/great room, but there is always something to be done.  Trim work and such, or digging out from the mess we have made all around the house during the process.  So, Lord willing, off we go tomorrow:)  The kids are so excited.  I'm excited about just enjoying my family that I love to spend time with.   Seriously, I love these days and don't want to waste  a moment of the time I have been given with the guys in my life.  I'm trying to just soak it up....even the crazy moments that make me want to pull my hair out:)  So if you don't hear from me at times on here....you know where I am....with the boys!

Here's the past couple of weeks in pictures...I will check in later!  ( I just noticed there are none of Tolar in this bunch.)

Look....we are almost done!  God has truly been in the details.  AMAZING how we have seen Him take care of the details of this project.  When you wait on Him and look to Him...He will lead you in the way to go!  I give Him all the glory.   Already, this space is being used to bring Him glory as it has been filled with children, special friends and even opportunities to minister to other women.

My Trace has been busy reading lately.  I love it!!!!

Here's my Bean Curry Dish I got to share with a few girlfriends who dropped by for lunch.  Spontaneous get togethers are the best.
